STEP 1: Eligibility Requirements
As a Scoutmaster or Varsity Coach, you must decide if each boy is worthy and ready for election to the Order of the Arrow:
1. Registered scout
2. First Class Rank
3. At least 10 nights short-term camping within the previous 2 years
4. At least 5 nights on one long-term camp within the previous 2 years
5. Approved by Scout Leader
STEP 2: To Hold a Troop Election
There are just a few things you need to hold an election for your Scout Troop or Varsity Team.
50% of the active scouts in your unit must be present to vote.
Bring a filled out election form with the names of eligible candidates (see above) and signed by the Scoutmaster or Varsity Coach. Click here to download the Elections Form. For Clinic Election, a form will be automatically generated. Just make sure you have entered mailing addresses for the candidate scouts in your unit's Clinic Registration, then the Scoutmaster must come to sign it.
The election must be administered by the OA Induction TeamNO exceptions.

STEP 4: Ordeal
Those who are elected will be contacted by the T'Kope Kwis Kwis Lodge with information regarding Ordeals. In order to become a member of the OA, you must complete the Ordeal. If you do not attend and complete the Ordeal over the course of a year, then your election expires.
There are usually three Ordeals offered over the course of the year, beginning in March. The Ordeal is NOT a hazing sort of initiation. It is a program that teaches the ideals of cheerful service in Scouting.
STEP 5: Adult Leader Nominations
If at least one boy is elected from your unit, your Unit Committee may select one adult to be inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He or she must be registered, at least 21 and have fulfilled the camping requirements. Click here to download the Adult Nomination form.
