REGISTRATION CLOSED

You can still log-in to view your badges and progress. Units and Scouts may still be added or removed from the system, but changes and additions to classes may only be done by the system administrator.

Notices

Reserved Seating / No Walk-ins

By registering online, in advance, Scouts will reserve actual seats in a classroom for each hour during the three Saturday-morning sessions. NO on-site registration or last-minute schedule changes will be available.

Registration Deadlines

Registration is open first to all Orca District Scouts. Scouts from other districts may not begin to register until December 26th. Registration will close on January 2nd, or sooner if all classes are filled. Counselors will start to contact registered Scouts up to two weeks prior to the first Saturday-morning session to discuss preparation for the on-site classes and initial work on merit badge requirements. They will also communicate with Scouts after the last Saturday-morning session as needed, until February 22nd, the closing date. This should give most Scouts enough time to complete their merit badge(s) during the Clinic.

Counselor Training

Training is required for all Merit Badge Counselors. Two one-hour training opportunities will be offered, in December and early January (for details, visit the Orca District website, by clicking here).

Print Out Class Schedules and a Building Map

Don't get lost in the crowd. Bring printouts of your schedule and a map of the building with you. For a map of the building, click here.

Adult Leader Training

Scoutmaster training is offered for adults during the same time periods as the Merit Badge classes for the boys. Adult training will takes place in the Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome (no pre-registration).

Indoor Ceremonies

Flag ceremonies start at 8:45 a.m. This year all gatherings will be in the gym.

Uniforms Are Required

All Scouts should be sure to wear their Boy Scout Field Uniforms (NOT Scout "activity" T-shirts or regular school clothes) for all three Saturday-morning sessions of the Clinic.

Check-In

All Scouts from each unit will be checked in by their unit leader (or unit representative) as a group, at the Clinic registration desk. Merit Badge Applications (the blue cards, pre-signed by the leader and pre-checked by the unit for proper entries) for all of the unit's Scouts will be submitted at that time.

Possible Classroom Changes

To accommodate fluctuations in demand for various classes, we may occasionally need to move classes to larger or smaller rooms. To ensure accuracy of your room schedule, be sure to check for room changes just before the start of the Saturday-morning sessions. Signs will be provided throughout the building to help direct Scouts to the correct classrooms.

Buddy Discipline

With Scouts being able to choose their own classes, boys from the same unit may be attending classes together. Scouts are reminded that this will require good discipline on their part, to be courteous, even when they are with their friends.

Costs and Materials

All participating units will be responsible for payment of a small, one-time, Unit Fee after online registration closes, to cover the administrative expenses for the event. Scouts in a few of the merit badge classes may need to pay a small fee to cover materials used. All Scouts are expected to obtain the needed blue cards from their unit leaders, print and bring any worksheets suggested by their Counselors, and try to bring the appropriate merit badge pamphlets (recommended).
